VEGAS BABY!!!

Now, for the people who know me, they know that I do not drink, nor do I gamble (although I did for the first time on this trip. Only $10 and I won $50, that’s a win). So for someone like me who doesn’t really gamble or drink, what is the best thing to do while in Vegas? Go to exhibits and eat of course!!

As soon as we landed Friday morning we left the airport and got our rental car. We all looked at each other and were like, we HAVE to find something to eat. So someone had done their research and we decided to go to a place called The Omelette House. http://omelethouselv.com I had the Loch-Ness Monster omelette. It had Gulf shrimp, avocado, and cheddar cheese. It was absolutely amazing. The omelette was soft and the shrimp was buttery and garlicy also. It paired so well with the cheese and eggs. It came with a side of homemade potatoes that they had cut into potato chips. They were alright. Nothing to write home about, tbh, but still worth it. Served with a side of their homemade corn beef hash and an English muffin, it was a meal worthy to welcome you to Sin City!

Our next stop after The Omelette House was the Shelby Museum. https://shelbyamericancollection.org/ Now, I’m not a huge car guy, but this museum was well worth the time. The tour guide was absolutely amazing. He kept us entertained all the way through the tour and he was very well informed on the topic at hand. Learned a lot of stuff that I previously did not know about not only the Shelby, but a few other cars too. The floor had some amazing cars. The history of the models was far more informative than I thought it would be. This tour had us immersed into the past and history of the founder. His ups and his downs, his good and his bad, his friendships and his enemies just like the movie Ford Vs. Ferrari. Here are a couple pics that I took while inside of the museum. Not many tbh, I was more focused on our tour guides story and the roleplay he had everyone doing.

After leaving the Museum we kind of just walked up and down the strip. We didn’t really have any more plans for that day so it was just time to walk and sightsee. It was cool seeing people out and about again. We traveled as safely as we could, making sure we had our masks on and hand sanitizer ready! The girls in the feather outfits trying to get pictures with everyone. All of the people advertising their hotels, bars, and casinos are still as annoying as ever. Honestly this part of the story is just us walking around the strip and visiting the Bellagio Hotel to see the flower exhibit.

So after we finished walking around, seeing the flowers and exhibits, we hit up a few slots. (penny slots of course, we aren’t balling, lol). We kind of figured it might be a good time to call it a night since it was like, 1 am, but we were so hungry. So my buddy and his wife said they had the best place to go to for late night tacos. Obviously, we had to go. We went to a place called Tacos El Gordo http://tacoselgordobc.com/. This place was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! If you want some amazing food, go here!! I got the Carne Asada fries and a few tacos. I think they were the Al Pastor tacos, too.

The next morning – on Saturday, I met up with my cousin and Aunt, and we went to breakfast at The Cracked Egg https://www.thecrackedegg.com/. The wait to get in was roughly 30 minutes, it wasn’t too bad for a Saturday morning. I ordered the raspberry cream cheesed filled stuffed french toast with a side of sausage and hash browns and a raspberry iced tea. This place was really good. I was very impressed with the french toast. The sausage and hash browns didn’t really stand out. They were just the average sides you get everywhere. I definitely recommend going there if you have the chance. Although, paying extra for the sausage wasn’t really worth it in my opinion.

We spent the rest of the Saturday walking around. Nothing super exciting. Hit up a few casinos and played some penny slots again. I believe we went to Circus Circus casino and then called it a night. Ate the left over fries we had from the night before.

Now on Sunday, kind of the whole reason for the trip – Meow Wolf!! https://meowwolf.com/visit/las-vegas This exhibit is so amazing!! When you first walk in, you are greeted with a giant robot on the floor and when you look at it, it has hidden symbols so you have to solve the puzzle. The statues on the outside are pretty cool and they make for some amazing photo ops. Now, when you walk into the building (by the way the building is called Area 15, so I thought that was kind of cool), the entire area is not dedicated to Meow Wolf, so be prepared for that part. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to explore the rest of it. As for the Meow Wolf though, it looks like a basic grocery store when you first walk in, but after finding the hidden entrances into the actual exhibit, you are thrust into a world of mystery and thrills. You can spend probably an entire day inside of this place and only experience a portion of everything they have to offer. From the videos to the interactive exhibits, everything in the grocery store is available for purchase. So that’s actually pretty cool in itself also. The colors, sound, staff and videos are fully immersive – they react to you and if you do not actually pay attention to what’s going on, you find yourself missing out on the subtle movements from the staff, or the video changing above the counter. This is definitely worth the hype and you all should 100% take a trip out there to see it. Make sure you make reservations, though. It gets full pretty fast.

So after Meow Wolf we chilled out for the rest of the day and kind of took it easy. Took my friends to the airport and just went back to the hotels and chilled out until dinner. We then realized that just going to a restaurant and walking in would not be as easy as we thought. Everything needed reservations and was a super long wait. We drove around until we ended up finding this ramen place that looked pretty cool on the outside. The name is Ramen Sora https://www.ramensoralasvegas.com/. We went in and luckily the wait was only 30 min, so we played Pokémon until it was time. I had the spicy miso ramen with extra spicy meat and an extra tamago ( soft boiled egg), and let me tell you, I have been looking for good ramen for a while. This place did not disappoint AT ALL! The ramen was full of flavor, rich, and fulfilling. It had some amazing spice and a great kick to it. I had a good sweat going from the steam and spice. I also had a green apple Japanese pop that I usually get whenever I can. This place was well worth the wait.

The final stop for the Vegas trip was an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and Sushi. The name of this place is called BiWon Korean BBQ https://www.biwonlv.com/. I wish I could remember our server’s name. I feel like it was Bia… I hope that’s it because she was amazing! She made some amazing recommendations for the food that we had. I had the Your Name (my favorite anime movie btw) sushi and the Lemon Salmon rolls. Absolutely amazing! Super flavorful. Now, for the Korean BBQ part. I can’t even remember all of the food we ordered. It was so much food. I do remember getting whole octopus and squid though. Those were beautiful. The ribeye and the sirloin were amazing – tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection (shout out to myself). Now if you go, I recommend going for dinner time because you get the dinner menu and the lunch menu for only $25 a person. You get 90 minutes to order your food. We used all 90 and it was more than worth it.

All in all, this trip was definately my best trip to Vegas. Absolutely worth it, and I am so happy that I went. I hope you can make it to some of, if not all of the places I’ve been to.

Thanks for reading.

Big, Black and Bold. Until next time!
